Ashley Davidson - Marvellous Events. Do not trust this man.
Dear All,
My name is Barrie Trower and my band The Talent was booked by Ashley Davidson for an event in Newcastle Football Club on Saturday 20th March 2010 for Proctor & Gamble. After 100's of emails, court proceedings and Ashley moving home to avoid the impending bailiffs I am still over £1200 out of pocket and was hoping to find people who have had similar experiences with Ashley Davidson of Marvellous Events. I already have a long list of upset ex-clients of Ashley's and with your help I hope to find many many more and put a stop to this once and for all.
Through the past months after the Newcastle Football Club event I have been compiling a plan to make Ashley pay me and many other people everything back he owes or heed the consequences. Justice is not just about receiving what is rightfully mine it is about making sure Ashley never trades again and is taught that every action has a reaction.

I have known Ashley for many years and, as most agents do, there were times when I was waiting many many weeks for money owed.
ReplyDeleteThere was one occasion when I was owed money for so long I swear I would have hit him if I saw him.
That was a few years ago now and since then he gave me the odd job and also asked me to recommend acts for events he was running.
Then the last job I got a Tarot Card Reader was the final straw.
The TCR rang me after a month and asked if it takes long to get paid from him - I said that it could. I rang Ashley and he promised he would pay him within the week.
He hasnt.

I have also known Ashley for a number of years via the phone and emails but not personally. We've provided him with entertainers many a time. In Dec 2009 he booked 2 fire performers through our Agency and their payment remains unpaid to this date (29-01-11)The address I had been given, he'd moved from. I began to search for an address for him as Equity needed to have his address in order to follow through the legal channels. I was later given an address only to find that he'd recently moved from it, not leaving any forwarding address. If anyone knows where he is would they contact Barrie Trower please. I gave Ashley the chance to pay monthly and received just one payment and he defaulted on the others, hence Equity are now looking to contact him. Others have similar stories to tell and we hope they'll add there's to ours...
ReplyDeleteAshley Davidson is simply nothing more than a con man. He hires entertainers, receives payment from clients and refuses to pay the people he hired. He recently booked several entertainers for the same event, including myself - and none of us have been paid. The client paid him and he has kept every penny. This is his trademark. Furthmore he point blank refuses to give a current address and also note Ashley Davidsons website Marvelous Events does not have a static address where he maybe contacted, only an email and mobile number. I now know of many other entertainers who this con man has conned. He ignores 99% of emails and makes false promises in the occasional emails he replies to with excuses. I intend to report this fraudster to the police and believe we should all do the same. I warn all entertainers to avoid business with this sad excuse of an entertainment booker .... Tony Junior

ReplyDeleteThis is great and exactly what is needed.. I believe we now have a list of around 10+ people who have been unpaid by Ashley Davidson, Marvellous Events and we are still looking for more all the time. Obviously we all want our money back but satisfaction can be gained in many different ways. With enough people and information and most importantly organisation we can not only shut Ashley down but also make sure he never works again and maybe even serves time.
I feel a duty to make sure that he stops doing this to professional people who are simply offering their services in good will.
Once we have enough people, our plan is to approach, watchdog, trading standards, the police and rogue traders with a file containing information on every deceitful act that Ashley has committed and make sure that he never works again.
Please pass this message on to as many people as possible and join the ever growing list.

ReplyDeleteI purchased concert tickets from this character in 2008 totalling over £300, and well before the event had to change my plans because of work commitments abroad. Assured over the phone/by email that these would be sold easily to others, & my cheque refunded without problem, I am now here 3 years later realising that he is a common thief. Those tickets must have been sold on again by Davidson, with my money left in his account. Happy to help put his thing out of business. Daniel Hudson
ReplyDeleteBarrie, I did have the same problem and ironically we were booked in Proctor and Gamble as well on the same night. He never paid us despite my numerous Emails and phone calls. Willing to be contacted if you need, or tell me if there is something that can be done

Hi All, we now have a list of over 30 upset clients of ashley and have enlisted the help of many private investigators. If you have any further information you can send please do so as soon as possible.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, it seems as though we won't be getting our money back although there is a strong possibility of locking ashley up for a while.
This for me is perfect justice.

Hi everyone, I did a Disco and Karaoke for one of Ashley's clients 31-03-2011, and i am still awaiting payment. I thought i could trust him as i did the same event last year which i got paid up front. I am now in the process of finding this con man, so if anyone has any phone numbers or addresses for Ashley i would be very greatfull. As i will confront him myself and either get the cash from him or take goods to the value of what he owes me, or if that fails just get my monies worth from him in other ways. I could go the legal route, but with the costs involved to start proceedings, it doesnt seem worth it.

ReplyDeleteJoin the Q we are owed around £1000 by ashley, i have now come to the conclusion that i will never see that, i would rather he spend some time at her majesty s pleasure!
This type of guy really gets my goat, i will have my chance with him hopefully in court,

My Name is Emma Notley I opened my business in January 2010 I received an email off Ashley Davidson for a big order in the march , (bearing in mind i am a small business who has started from scratch with no money trying to build it myself with no help from any organisations)
ReplyDeleteAshley failed to organize the paying of the deposit with a well known company resulting in me directly having to get it from them.
This Event took myself, partner and daughter in-law 8 hours in total to complete the job. He was more than happy with the work and invoice was sent 2 days later, when the payment was due the contact stopped on his part he failed to answer emails and phone calls. This resulted in solicitors, courts, private agents and bailiffs leaving me in £1500 loss and still no joy !!
My business is on the verge of folding because of this vile fraud creature !!!

Last I heard, Ashley was living in Ripon, North Yorkshire area, if anyone can find an address for him we'd love you to share it with us. It may have gone quiet for the moment but he's still being sought after by numerous people, keep the forum hear, updated. ARCEnts at 23-12-11 still remains unpaid from Dec 2009

I am a caricaturist based in Scotland and provided caricatures for Ashley of Marvellous Events at a corporate event for the financial services industry at Airth Castle on the 11th of May 2010. Despite making repeated calls and sending invoices I also was never paid for this work.
